Certovo Jezero

The legend says: Long time ago, there used to be a very very small lake in that place. Few devils were watching the lake in order to catch people and take them to hell. Once, a beautiful, strong and bold girl went around the lake. The devil who just patrolled there, told himself: What a nice girl! I´ll be surely awarded for such a nice capture in our hell! ...as the girl went around, the devil jumped and tried to catch the girl. But he didn´t know the girl was very bold and strong. They fought and the devil struggled hard but he couldn´t defeat the girl. She also tried to bind the devil! But her rope was too short. At least, she binded him to a big stone, which she threw into water. As the devil tried to stay away from water, he engraved a big groove into the ground by his claws.But in the end, he felt into to water and from that time, no other devil dared to stay near the lake. The groove had been watered and the people started to call the lake "Devil´s lake". The legend also says that some strange figures rise from the lake all the time... a wonderful woman in dark blue elegant suite and black shoes and old little scary man appears from time to time on the water level.
So that´s why the lake is called "certovo" (cert = devil)
